It will be the last summer fling I have and the last thing me and Fred will do together, besides drive back and have some nookie, that is if he extends his time in America and delays his flight. Anyway, go to rock the bells.

I am such a hip hop lover that I can’t not write about this concert that’s happening in two months. Let me know if your going.

Electric Daisy Carnival

peace. love. unity. respect. Electric Daisy Carnival

Carnival by definition.com standards is any merrymaking, revelry, or festival, as a program of sports or entertainment.

Carnival by my standards is the best, most fun filled, most loving place to be merry and be taken away into another world.

140,000 people showed up at this year’s Electric daisy carnival and they were all dressed by their imaginations. I went on Friday, but it went Friday and Saturday. 6 tents and 100 artists for 140,000 people to live in, explore, and love. It was held at Exposition Park and the memorial coliseum in L.A.

It was my first time at a rave and I was told that EDC was the biggest and best rave in the world. That was hard for me to believe because it’s only a half hour drive from my hometown in Long Beach. I could not even predict a little bit what I was about to experience and see. I went with a group of my guy friends, one being my Australian love. We went shopping the day before for costumes, apparently the craziest outfit you could pick out would not even be slightly crazy compared to what others were wearing. We picked out a great little orange shirt that said ‘hoochie mama’ for my baby, Fred and an energetic 80’s spandex aerobic outfit for me. The next day we were on our way. As soon as we got off the freeway it was packed and you could hear the heavy beat of the music bumpin a mile away. That’s when my vision was pushed and my reality erased.

We waited an hour for the rest of our friends to get there. Then, we went inside and I don’t think we ever really left.

There were food stands, a guy on jumpy stilts dancing like no other in the air, sculptures that looked like they were made out of wire, a big ferries wheel, rides, stages with TV’s and light shows, tons of loving people dancing like nobody is watching. This was all before the sun went down. Then as it went down, we made our way into the coliseum.

The coliseum was packed. Imagine it, thousands of people in the stands so when you have a 360 view all you see is specs with lights and thousands of people in the center where the field would be dancing. Kaskade was so sick, I mean I did not stop dancing his whole entire set and neither did the whole of EDC. We were all one, we all felt each other, even the specs on the opposite side of the coliseum felt like they were beside me.

The show was just that, a spectacular show and feast for the soul and eyes and ears and body. Brazing fires and fire works and Kaskade written on the screen in unison with what he was playing. I was afraid to say it but that was a perfect night.

Everything was perfect.

Since it was my first rave I had nothing to compare it to. I heard many times from people that they had never seen anything like that. You must go, but only if you’re a loving person.

Peace. Love. Unity. Respect, among all.
